Sending Love & Necromancy

This is  a solo journaling role-playing  game
where you make up stories about a dead loved one
in an imagined hereafter, with an aim at assisting the grieving process. 

The game uses Oracles and Prompts to help you create an afterworld,
its landscape, denizens and something resembling a story.

You can play the PDF View version digitally

the Print Format version if you want to print out a physical copy.

Ultimately this is an attempt to formalize how I've
personally used role-playing games in my own mourning.
I humbly offer  this up in the hopes that it will be of use to others.

     Dedication: This game is dedicated to, and essentially made for, my friend Fable, who passed recently before its publishing.  I had been working on another game(Who Wants to Wed a Warlock; aka Love-iathan) that was kind of a collaboration and kind of just another genius Fable idea that I was trying to bring into being.   After her passing I found myself unable to work on WWWW/Love.  It wasn't just that I was sad, I felt like; What would the game even be without her input?  How could I release it without her there?  I really would like to finish some version of WWWW/Love someday to honor her and the work we put into it,  but at the moment it is just too emotionally fraught of a project.

  Instead this game; Sending Love & Necromancy, flowed out of me unbidden in a 48 hr period of grief frenzy.  Making this game was my grieving process. I play-tested it alone on the train, ugly crying around strangers.  Ugh, what am I trying to say.  I think, this "game" is as much memorial to her as it is an experimental zine role-playing game.  If you don't like games, never played any kind of TTRPG or just don't want to play this one for wahtever reason; this is still an offering of remembrance of her, Fable, as the enthralling storyteller and weaver of game and fantasy that I knew her.   <3
